Blausee & Oeschinensee – Private Day Tour: Two Hidden Alpine Lakes

6 hours

Easy

A private full-day escape to two of the Alps' most beautiful lakes: the fairy-tale Blausee and the UNESCO-listed Oeschinensee above Kandersteg.
  • Visit the deep-blue Blausee, a tranquil nature park with a glass-bottom boat ride included in entry
  • Ride the gondola up to Oeschinensee, part of the Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch UNESCO World Heritage Site
  • See turquoise glacier-fed water framed by the 3,000 m peaks of the Blüemlisalp
  • Two contrasting lakes in one day — one gentle and wooded, one dramatic and alpine
  • Private vehicle, flexible pace, English-speaking local driver — away from the main tourist crowds

This private day tour pairs two of the Bernese Oberland's most striking lakes, both well off the standard Interlaken circuit. You'll start at Blausee, a small nature park built around a vividly blue spring-fed lake — clear enough that a glass-bottom boat (included in the entry) lets you see straight to the bottom, with a trout farm and forest trails alongside. From there it's a short drive to Kandersteg, where a gondola carries you up toward Oeschinensee. A gentle walk from the top station brings you to the lakeshore, where glacier-fed turquoise water sits enclosed by sheer rock walls and the Blüemlisalp peaks above 3,000 metres — one of the most photographed alpine scenes in Switzerland. There's time to walk the shore, hire a rowing boat, or simply take it in before the return to Interlaken. Throughout, it's just your group and a local driver, at your own pace.
